Sperm Freezing
At our centre, we have a private space for semen collection. Once collected, the sperm is treated with a special protective solution. The freezing process involves gradually lowering the temperature to store the sperm safely.
If no sperm is found in the semen due to your medical condition, a testicular biopsy may be performed to extract sperm directly from the testes. This minor surgical procedure is done under general anesthesia. When you're ready to use the stored sperm, it is recommended to undergo ICSI to improve the chances of successful fertilization.
Sperm can be frozen for many years, and typically, between 25% and 50% of the sperm will survive the freezing and thawing process.
